Three vacancies at Department of Ocean Systems, Royal NIOZ, The Netherlands

The Department of Ocean Systems (OCS; headed by Prof. Dr. Gert-Jan Reichart) is looking to fill three vacancies. Specifically the vacancies are for a Junior (tenure track) or Senior Scientist in Marine Chemical Oceanography, Physical Oceanography and Paleoceanography.

Employment of these positions at Royal NIOZ is by NWO (The Netherlands Organization of Scientific Research). In case the position is offered at the tenure-track level, the candidate will be hired for 5 years. At the end of a successful tenure track term, a permanent scientific staff position will be offered up to the level of senior scientist. Criteria for evaluation comprise a track record of publications that is far above average, proven skills in acquiring funding, and an international network.

We offer an excellent salary, a pension scheme, a holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary, a year-end bonus and flexible work arrangements. You may expect very attractive secondary employment conditions. We offer generous relocation expenses for employees coming from abroad and support with finding accommodation. The position comes with the opportunity to set-up a PhD project in the same direction as the (tenure track) position.
